Understanding the program

The WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program is designed to support businesses in Ontario in their journey to establish and maintain high standards of health and safety at their workplace and is implemented through a WSIB approved program provider. This helps the businesses to develop their health and safety action plan tailored to the unique needs of the organization based on various focus areas.
The program is open to all businesses in Ontario, regardless of size or industry. It follows a tiered approach with thirty-six topics spread across three levels (foundational, intermediate and advanced), enabling businesses to progress from foundational health and safety practices to more advanced levels of excellence.
