Course Description

A certified JHSC member is one who has successfully completed the CPO-Approved JHSC Certification Training Program. The training program has two (2) parts. To become a certified JHSC member, you will need to complete both parts successfully. During COVID-19, Joint Health and Safety Committee certification training (JHSC training) is one of the most effective ways for employers to minimize COVID-19 workplace transmission. Our JHSC Part 1 e-learning course is a fully independent learning course that consists of online modules that can be accessed and completed in the comfort of your own space and time. Another advantage of pursuing this course with us is that you can now complete this course in as little as 15 hours and save a full day. Upon completion of Part 1 of the program, you will be eligible to take JHSC Part 2 Virtual in an instructor-led learning environment.

Course Content

Participants will gain a fundamental understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), how it is written, and composed.

Learners will become informed on the duties and responsibilities of the OHSA for employees, workers, supervisors, and constructors.

This course will provide a practical introduction to the continual improvement system that utilizes the acronym race - Recognizing, Assessing, Controling, and Evaluation hazards.

In order to support the activities of the employer, the MLTSD, and their own duties under the OHSA, learners will receive an introduction to the theory of accident and incident investigation.

The instructor will guide the class through a number of online resources based upon the workplace sectors the participants are from. They will also include materials to safeguard the due dilligence of the employer.
