What Is JHSC Part 1 Certification Training?
JHSC Part 1 Certification Training is the mandatory foundational component of Ontario’s JHSC certification program. The course introduces participants to workplace health and safety legislation, hazard recognition, risk assessment, and the internal responsibility system.
Part 1 establishes the knowledge required before progressing to workplace-specific hazard training in Part 2.

JHSC Part 1 training is intended for:
Worker representatives serving on a Joint Health and Safety Committee
Management representatives serving on a Joint Health and Safety Committee

Organizations requiring certified JHSC members under Ontario legislation
Ontario workplaces with 20 or more workers must have certified JHSC members, making certification an essential compliance requirement.
