Frequently Asked Questions

Which training is mandatory?

In Ontario, workers must complete four mandatory courses: WHMIS, AODA, Workplace Violence & Harassment, and Health & Safety Awareness. Companies with 20 or more employees require certified JHSC members. In construction, any worker at risk of falling more than 3 metres must complete Working at Heights training.

Courses vary in length. JHSC Part 1 e-learning can be completed in as little as 16 hours while the virtual takes course over a 3-day span, with Part 2 taking 2 days. WAH bundles an e-Learning portion 3.5 hours long followed by a 3.5 hour in person practical training session. The four Ontario Mandated courses require approximately an hour each to complete.

Yes. All 4S training certificates are QR-coded for authenticity and ease of access. For JHSC and Working at Heights courses, participants also receive government-issued certificates.
