In this module we are concerned with federal work places under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code Part II (CLC).

The Canada Labour Code Part II (CLC) sets out the requirements for establishing:

  • Health and safety policy committees:
  • Work place health and safety committees; and
  • Health and safety representatives.

In this module, we are concerned only with when and how to establish committees and representatives. In another module we will consider the functions, rights and duties of committees and representatives.
