It’s time for employers to get ready as IHSA transitions from the current COR Audit Tool to the COR 2020 standard by 2025. For making the transition, employers need to note the following implementation dates:
- December 1, 2021 – All Initial Internal Audit submissions after this date must use the COR™ 2020 audit tool
- October 1, 2022 – All External Audits after this date must use the COR™ 2020 audit tool
COR 2015 certified employers can transition at anytime. In fact, all they need to do, is to complete the COR™ 2020 Transition Tool and submit it to the IHSA for review.
Transition requirement for employers who are not COR certified
As an employer who is new to COR or beginning your journey, you have two choices. In fact, you can go with COR 2015 or 2020 until Dec 01, 2021. However, after Dec 01, 2021, you will need to submit your internal audit to the 2020 standard.
Transition requirement for employers who are COR certified
As a COR certified employer, you can transition at anytime by using the transitioning tool and submitting it to IHSA for review. Therefore, you don’t need to transition, unless you want to. Moreover, anyone doing their External Audit to COR 2020, needs to start that in Oct 01, 2022. Furthermore, if you did your COR audit a year ago, then the next one in 2023 has to be a COR 2020 audit.
