The worker’s right to participate in OHS is mainly about the right to have someone take the worker’s concerns and champion them – it is primarily a right to representation. This course covers the issues involved in setting up a properly structured Committee and putting in place the right kind of worker Health and Safety representative. Many of their activities – powers and duties – are covered in the next two courses.
This course builds on the first Right to Participate course. In this course we focus on the single Health and Safety representative, normally found in workplaces with 6 to 19 workers.
This course builds on the first Right to Participate course. In this course, we want to know what the powers and duties of the Committee are. Very importantly, we want to distinguish between the functions of the worker representatives on the Committee and the Committee as a whole.
