Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) was developed to give all working Canadians a uniform information about hazardous materials used in the workplace. The objective of the course is to educate on identifying hazards of the materials you could work with, and how to protect yourself from accidents and illness. The course will cover the WHMIS, supplier and workplace labels as well as Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Responsibilities, health effects and way to control the hazards are also covered.
