Due diligence in the workplace means exercising adequate care and taking all precautions protect the health and safety of the worker. The course also covers Bill-C45, which came into effect in 2004. Bill C-45 makes it a criminal act to place a worker in harms way due to negligence. Imposing legal penalties on a person for criminal negligence, employers, supervisors and workers can be charged under Bill C-45 for not taking the appropriate precautions in the event of an accident.
