Blood-borne pathogens are disease causing microorganisms that are present in human blood. These pathogens include but are not limited to, Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). This course is meant for employees who are not expected to come into regular contact with blood and body fluids at their workplace, but who could have contact with these fluids on rare occasions. Examples of such workers are janitors and anyone who would provide first aid.
