What you can expect on this role:

This is a client facing/management position. Reporting to the Project Advisor/Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting all phases of the consulting client program, including OH&S accreditation programs, from kick-off to completion.

 

What we expect from you:

Implements operating plans to meet business objectives along with appropriate risk management strategies:

- Initiates & develops delivery plan for assigned number of clients  

- Produces variance reporting for assigned clients

- Supports the implementation of escalation procedures  

- Attends periodic meetings weekly, monthly etc. with clients and provides follow up notes  

- Collaborates internally within the business to leverage implementation capabilities.

- Keeps abreast of developments in the industry by involving in industry events, trade associations and by close liaison with stakeholders, suppliers & customers.  

- Helps develop new product and service offerings to clients.

 

Responsible for the delivery of OH&S services to clients, including drafting of OH&S deliverables such as Job Hazard Analysis, Health and Safety Manual, Practices and Procedures, Employee Safety Handbooks, Risk Assessments, etc. 

 

Who you are:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Public health or graduating in next 3 months

- Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to work with different levels of management

- Ability to lead meetings

- Proven problem-solving capabilities

- Working knowledge of provincial health and safety laws/regulations 

- Project management skills

- Strong computer skills including office work related software, e.g., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Summary

4S Consulting Services Inc. is looking to expand its growing team of classroom instructors. This
position reports to Sr. Training Manager. The successful candidate will be a quick learner with
excellent public speaking skills, a background in adult education, and experience with occupational
health and safety training. Training will be provided in the form of train-the-trainer education, instructor
shadowing, and co-teaching sessions. Experience working within the construction, manufacturing, or
workplace safety industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach students through in-class and/or virtual discussions, provided audio-visual
presentations.

• Successfully complete 4S Train-the-Trainer programs and maintain Certification (e.g. Working
at Heights (WAH) and JHSC).

• Conduct JHSC training in a classroom, private and virtual sessions

• Conduct Working at heights training in a classroom and at customer sites

• Conduct hands-on equipment and other health & safety training such as scissor lift, genie
boom, forklift, confined space, lock out, electrical safety, etc.

• Participate in instructor training on an ongoing basis.

• Participate in team meetings and development workshops.

• Assist in the development, changes and improvement of training both classroom and online
training material

• Conduct supervisor and management training

• Travel to client sites for private training sessions including travel across the country.

• May require to do some site Inspections


Qualifications:

• 5+ years of recent OHS experience OR a professional OHS designation OR successful
completion of 30+ OHS training over the past 2 years OR a degree, diploma, or certificate in
OHS from a recognized post-secondary institution.

• 100+ hours of adult education delivery experience in the last 5 years OR successful
completion of an instructor training program based on adult learning principles OR a degree,
diploma, or certificate in adult education principles from a recognized post-secondary
institution OR a professional training and development designation.

• Knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations, especially industrial and construction.

• Training experience with: JHSC; Working at Heights; Aerial Equipment; Forklift; Confined Space
etc. (must maintain valid and up-to-date certification at all times) is an asset.

• Ability to work independently but also in a team environment.

• Professional classroom and participant management skills.

• Public speaking and customer service skills.

• Proficient with computer and mobile applications.
